RNA Holdings LLC, Becomes Licensed Authorized Reseller of iPad, in addition to being an authorized reseller for MacBook®, iMac®, Xserve®, iPod®, and other Apple® Products.

Dallas, Texas — October 22, 2010 – RNA Holdings, LLC, signed an agreement with Apple to become an Authorized Reseller of the iPad. In doing so, RNA has become the first company in the Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy industry to mobilize the facility interaction with the pharmacy using software designed for the iPad. RNA’s software gives the user wireless access to new orders, refills, admissions, pricing checks, printing and medical records. “This is a definite game changer,” said RNA President and CEO, Duke Yetter. “It gives nurses in long-term care facilities unprecedented mobility.”

Until now, nurses had to continually return to a workstation to access files, request new orders and perform a host of other functions. Because the iPad uses WiFi and/or 3G, they can now do these tasks right at a patient’s bedside. Wayne MacArdy of Phillips Pharmacy, who has been beta testing the software, reports, “The technology is incredible. Our nurses love how it gives them more time with patients instead of paperwork.”

In addition to mobilizing the pharmacy functions, the iPad is intuitive, secure and user-friendly. The fact that Apple products are not as susceptible to viruses or prone to crashes is another huge advantage.

The official launch isn’t until December. However, to whet the industry’s appetite, RNA took out a full-page ad in ComputerTalk® for the Pharmacist, a trade publication that is distributed to approximately 32,000 pharmacies in the country. “It’s creating quite a buzz and we’re getting a number of inquiries from clients who want to schedule a demo,” said Vince Leonard, Director of RNA Sales.

RNA is also preparing to roll out a series of equally impressive Apple products and applications, including some that work in conjunction with a portable scanner. The industry can also look forward to a dashboard application for iPhone® that give LTC Pharmacy managers freedom to review pharmacy operations from virtually anywhere there’s a phone signal.
